He’s 9…His last single digit year. It sounds all cheesy to say, “Where did the time go?” But, seriously. WHERE DID IT GO?!?
Just look at him…
My firstborn. The game-changer. Isn’t he the most handsome little guy?
He’s so much like me…but, in a little boy form. He loves to be around people and play with his friends, but he relishes some peace and quiet. Give this kid a cup of hot coffee (decaf!) and a book, and he will disappear into his own little world. He loves to draw and create and will organize baseball cards and Pokemon toys for hours. He is so incredibly smart and has a ferocious sweet tooth. He also got a healthy dose of his Daddy’s love for all things sports and hunting related. He’s our baseball enthusiast. He loves to watch, play, study, whatever…as long as it has something to do with baseball. And, he doesn’t mind getting up super early on weekends if it means he may get to see (and possibly bring home) a turkey, deer, squirrel, or duck.
And, his heart? It’s golden. He’s kind and considerate and one of the most thoughtful children I’ve even been around…He has the most gentle spirit. (Unless you ask a turkey, deer, squirrel, or duck.) He has such a desire to help others and often asks when he can go on his first mission trip. Lord, I pray with all my heart that he keeps that compassion and love for others.
I am so thankful that God chose to bless us with this little one. He has taught me and Chris how to love in ways we never could have imagined. I hope he continues to dream big…live big…and, love big.
You are our sunshine, Landon. And, we love you more than you will ever know.
